A full oxygen cylinder is heavier than it looks, and it doesn’t like being tilted or dragged. That’s exactly why most hospitals stop letting staff carry them by hand once they’ve had one close call.

This oxygen cylinder trolley is our answer to that. The cylinder stands upright in the frame, held by curved straps and a chain across the front. The base plate takes the weight, so the straps aren’t doing all the work. Two large wheels at the back help it roll over door thresholds, and two smaller castors at the front let you turn corners without fighting it. The whole frame is stainless steel [grade-A], so you can wipe it down with your usual disinfectant and it won’t rust or flake. That matters more than people expect, because a trolley that goes from a ward to a storage room to an ambulance bay gets cleaned a lot.

Most of our customers use it to bring a medical gas cylinder from the store to the bedside or between the ICU and the operation theatre. Clinics and home-care setups use it too, mainly so nobody has to lift the cylinder by themselves.

A few practical things. Check that the cylinder is properly inside the straps and the chain is fastened before you push. Close the valve first. Go slowly around corners. And keep oil and grease away from the cylinder and its fittings. Don’t lubricate anything near the valve; wipe the trolley clean and leave it at that.
